Judge Sentences Lindsay Lohan to Serve 90 Days in Jail

In a Los Angeles court today, Judge Marsha Revel sentenced actress Lindsay Lohan to serve 90 days in jail and she must surrender to the court on July 20. Lindsay, 24, sobbed as she heard the news and realized that she wouldn’t be getting off scott free as she had hoped, according to People.

Even though it was clearly too late, Lindsay pleaded with the judge saying: “I did everything I was told to do, I thought I was being compliant. I’m not taking this as a joke, it’s my life and career. I don’t want you to think I don’t respect you and your terms.” Showing no mercy, Judge Revel replied with: “I couldn’t have been more clear. There are no excuses.”

Lindsay’s 16-year-old sister Ali and their father Michael were both said to be in tears after the sentence was handed down. Not only must the starlet serve 90 days in jail for violating the terms of her parole, but the judge also mandated that Lindsay spend three months in rehab following her release from jail.

Lindsay will be serving her time at the women’s Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California. That’s the same place where she was sentenced to a day behind bars in 2007 only to be released after 84 minutes due to overcrowding. Could she get lucky again? Some are speculating that the judge could forbid Lindsay from being released before the 90 days are up. That would certainly teach her a lesson, wouldn’t it?
