The actress – who reached the milestone today (23.02.10) – invited 40 guests, which included girls from her cheerleading squad and a private teacher, to a meal at Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills.
A source said: “Dakota looked adorable in a white blouse with a sequined, silver skirt and high heels.”
Special guest Cherie Currie – who Dakota played in ‘The Runaways’ which is based on 70s all-girl rock band – gave her a guitar sculpture, which she carved from a piece of wood.
The source continued: “She seemed very excited and touched about celebrating her special day with her family and friends.”
The Mediterranean-themed evening ended with the guests singing her ‘Happy Birthday’.
Dakota can be seen next acting alongside ‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart in the rock biopic.
