Selena Gomez isn’t taking a page out of anyone’s book of Hollywood antics when it comes to her 18th birthday plans. In a shocking, yet much appreciated change of pace for a young actress, Gomez is simply planning a laid back barbecue with some of her best friends.

Thursday (July 22) happens to be Selena Gomez’s 18th birthday, and while having her first feature film, “Ramona and Beezus,” hitting the big screen this weekend is quite a gift — and she got a giant cupcake backstage at “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” Wednesday night — Gomez has devised a perfect way to spend this milestone birthday.
“[I'm going to have a] barbecue with my friends,” Gomez told MTV News at the junket for the film. “['Ramona and Beezus' co-star] Joey [King] is coming. We’re gonna go swimming.”
Gomez has long been a favorite actress of Dinsey productions, and recently, has made strides in extending her career as both an actress and on-stage-musical performer.
