And with that, a new season ahead, which means fresh campaigns, collections and catwalk shows are on the horizon. Modelessence has a ponder again on what star qualities make a model a supermodel…

for sensational. Sensational body, sensational cheekbones and face, sensational skin, hair and posture. When it comes to super status, only sensational will tick the model boxes!

for understanding. No-one likes a primadonna! Even stylists and photographers have bad days so when a model makes life so much easier on a tricky shoot and can even make the team laugh, well, that’s a super lady and model!

for patience. Again, any model that is willing to hold that awkward pose for that much longer is a star! Any industry insider would agree, that’s what makes a model stand out among the rest.

for reality. Modelling can be hard – on the feet, nerves, stress levels and routine. One day it’s a flight to Japan, the next a day waiting by the phone for a casting schedule. Glamour is part of modelling but with it come shard work and endurance too.
