The Stieg Larsson book is one of the greatest selling novels in the world in recent years and it has already been made into a movie in Sweden. However for the Sony version of the movie Daniel Craig (of James Bond fame) has been lined up to play the lead male role, Mikael Blomkvist.

Though many though that Kristen Stewart or, perhaps Ellen Page (from “Juno” and “Inception”) would perfect a source has told E! that Sony does not seem to think so.

“Kristen Stewart is being considered [for the role], but she has not screen-tested…It looks like she may be out of the running because of Twilight scheduling conflicts,” said the source.

A source from Summit films also confirmed that Stewarts schedule for the “Twilight Saga” would make it impossible for her to be cast.

“Production dates are not firm but it’s still looking like “Breaking Dawn” will start production in Louisiana in the fall, probably October or November.”

Sony’s version of the movie will be shot in Sweden and the two main leads will be asked to sign a contract for all three in the movie.

The actress – who has been rumoured to be dating the British star since they started working together on the Twilight Saga – is not afraid to speak her mind, which can sometimes lead to awkward situations, with the 24-year-old actor admitting he isn’t able to be as vocal in his opinions.

He said: “Kristen is always really good but also clearly speaks her mind. That can be a bit uncomfortable. After we shoot a scene she sometimes looks at the director and says, ‘Let’s do that again.’

“If I did that she would probably kill me! She would probably say something like, ‘Shut up! The scene was perfect!’ ”

Robert is constantly travelling with his work and admits there is no longer any place he can call home.

He said: “My home consists of three suitcases which I live out of. Everything is in there.”

In order to fit with his lifestyle, Robert has his food specially-prepared and sent to him, which he thinks is for the best as he is such a hopeless cook.

He told Germany’s Sachsische Zeitung newspaper: “In Los Angeles I started using a delivery service which only delivers fresh and healthy food. Even in the morning I have a bag with healthy food delivered to me. I’ve never in my life lived as healthy as I do now.

“Of course I miss homemade food, but I’m on my own or on the go most of the time. And I can’t cook myself. I only just manage to make some toast. I don’t seem to have the genetic endowments for it. I’m incapable to tell what tastes good and what doesn’t.”

Fanning has far more range than you might expect from a 16-year-old — until you remember she acted in her first film at age eight. Both have tried their talents in similar genres, from science fiction and horror to comedy and drama, and have dug deep to deliver complex, compelling characters.

On paper it’s a tie. But in reality, though her resume boasts a diversity of characters and movie genres, we can’t help but feel Kristen Stewart delivers them all with the same aloof, tough-yet-fragile, pensive persona — as charismatic as it may be. Dakota Fanning is more of a chameleon.

Round 2: Star Stamina

A good measure of an actress’ fortitude and skill is sometimes whether or not she can hold her own with her A-list colleagues and how often she’s chosen to star with them. Kristen Stewart has held her own with Sean Penn, Robert De Niro, and Jodie Foster. Dakota Fanning, on the other hand, has also worked with Penn and De Niro as well as Tom Cruise, Forrest Whittaker, Denzel Washington, and Charlize Theron. Both Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have received kudos from the big names they’ve brushed shoulders with on set.

Winner: Dakota Fanning wins by a smidge.

Round 3: Awards

Excusing her Twilight Razzie (it’s Bella’s fault), Kristen Stewart earned a 2008 Screen Actors Guild Award nom for her performance in Into the Wild. She also won this year’s BAFTA rising star award and was included in Adventureland‘s 2009 Gotham Awards nom for best ensemble cast. Dakota Fanning, meanwhile, was the youngest person (at age eight) to be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for I Am Sam. She also nabbed a 2006 Saturn Award for War of the Worlds and the Broadcast Critics Associate Award for best young actress/actor twice.

Winner: So far Dakota Fanning’s garnered more total awards at 17 compared to six for Kristen Stewart, and neither can trump the other with an Oscar, so we’re ruling in favor of Dakota Fanning again.

The 24-year-old star, who is rumored to be dating Stewart, admits he sometimes feel awkward due to her speaking her mind.

“He’s like the antichrist even when sedated. He sits in a carrier under the seat in front of me on a plane, but it’s really not cool to have him in the cabin because he screams and rips his claws out.”

The 20-year-old actress – who is believed to be dating her ‘Twilight’ co-star Robert Pattinson – insists she doesn’t dream about having a white wedding like most girls her age but does think about having a baby.

When quizzed about her thoughts on marriage, she said: “Not at this point of my life. Maybe I’m completely different from everyone else. There are a lot of girls who can’t wait to get married and plan their wedding a long time in advance. I’m not like that. I do want to start a family at some point, but I don’t know when.”

But Kristen still refuses to be speak about her romance with Robert, only referring to him as a “good friend”.

She told German TV channel Tele 5: “At the beginning of the films there wasn’t a relationship at all, because we (me and Robert) didn’t know each other at all, but now it’s all different. We’ve shot all these films together and he’s become a good friend of mine. Taylor (Lautner) and Rob are incredibly important to me. They don’t get on my nerves. We’re always honest with each other without having to worry whether we’re hurting each other’s feelings.”

Whatever the studio decides, there’s no denying Breaking Dawn is going to be the most CG-intense film of the series, with one of the lead characters in the book practically begging to be completely CG. In fact, the introduction of this character in the fourth book left a lot of fans questioning whether it would be possible to actually bring Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn to the big screen. That, and the fact the book is much more adult in tone than its three predecessors, makes Breaking Dawn the most difficult of the batch to adapt for the screen.

Stewart said she’s expecting Breaking Dawn to start filming sometime this year. “That, probably November, but I don’t know if it’s going to be one or two.”

Part of the hold up in declaring a two-part Breaking Dawn may have to do with the actors’ contracts. Stewart’s not sure if she’s signed up for one or two more films. “I don’t know, actually,” admitted Stewart. “I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t want [two]. The story so completely warrants two films and it would suck to have to… It would be really disappointing to have to be able to just go, ‘Okay, we have to lose this sequence and this scene and this sequence and this scene.’ So I would like to do two movies but I really, to be perfectly honest, don’t know what they’re going to do.”
