In a prior hearing, the judge overseeing Lohan’s case had ordered her to report to rehab no later than 24 hours after her release from jail. The new order from Judge Marsha Revel means the 24-year-old starlet must report to the facility directly.

The “Mean Girls” actress and current inmate at the Century Regional Detention Facility could be released from jail as early as Sunday, the source said. However, predictions of her release date have varied widely.

Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, previously said Lohan hoped to spend some time with her family after her jail time and before starting a 90-day stint in rehab, RadarOnline reported.

Lohan has been serving a 90-day jail sentence since July 20 for violating terms of her probation related to her 2007 DUI conviction.

Lindsay Lohan will not leave jail before August.

The 24-year-old actress – who is only six days into a 90-day jail sentence for breaking the terms of her probation for a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) charge – had hoped to be released this week due to prison overcrowding, but a jail spokesman has confirmed that will not happen.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department representative Steve Whitmore said: “She won’t be released this week.”

Her sentence has already been reduced to 88 days because of time she has previously spent in custody, but overcrowding at the Century Regional Correctional Facility in Lynwood, California, means she could still be released as early as August 1.

Meanwhile, Lindsay received a second visit from her mother Dina and sister Ali yesterday (26.07.10).

The pair were not allowed to see the ‘Mean Girls’ actress at the weekend as they had used up their visiting rights on her first day in prison last Wednesday (21.07.10), and so took the first opportunity they could to see her.

A prison source said: “Lindsay might get visitors after the official visiting hours are over for the other inmates for security reasons. It’s for the safety of everyone.”

Lindsay’s estranged father Michael has also reached out to some Hollywood stars to ask them to help his daughter “get her life back” after she completes her sentence and subsequent mandatory rehab period.

He told Nashville radio station 107.5 The River: “My people are reaching out to Robert Downey Jr. and to Mark Wahlberg. I know both of them and Mark is a tremendous human being.

“Hopefully they’ll see her before she gets out and she’ll get in this rehab and get off these prescription meds, and she’ll get her life back.”

Michael also revealed his daughter is now “only on two medications”.

He said: “She’s only on two medications right now. Ambien for sleeping, I can understand that.

“But this Adderall stuff has got to be stopped. Seven out of 10 kids in college are on this stuff and it’s no more than methamphetamine! It’s speed.”

“She is in a cell block with people who have been convicted of dangerous felonies — murderers — and of course, she wants to get out,” the source tells PEOPLE. “She is not getting any special treatment of any kind … She’s behind glass [in the visiting area], and her family and friends can’t touch her.”

Theactress, now in her third day of confinement, is said to have left her father Michael off the list of potential visitors she gave to prison officials. “No one at the jail will even tell her that he’s there, if he does come. He will not be visiting her,” the source says.

Asked how Lohan is faring, the source replied: “She looks beautiful. She is just doing what she has got to do right now.” Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, echoed that, telling PEOPLE: “She’s actually doing quite well.”Lohan’s mother Dina and sister Ali, along with business manager Lou Taylor visited Lohan for about 30 minutes on Wednesday. A family friend tells PEOPLE that Dina and Ali are “devastated” but resilient.

“Their faith is keeping them strong,” the friend says. “Their faith and the thought that this is going to be over soon and that Lindsay is going to be okay.”Lindsay calls Dina “Mommy” and looks up to her, often saying, “My Mommy is so strong,” the friend adds.

While the world watched as Lohan broke down in tears at her sentencing on July 6, the public won’t be able to see the actress handcuffed and taken into custody on Tuesday, the judge ruled.

Cameras also must stop rolling when the judge announces that Lohan is remanded and the bailiff is instructed to take her into custody. The judge also ordered that photos of Lohan must be restricted to when she’s at the counsel table.

Lohan was ordered to serve 90 days in jail for missing alcohol counseling sessions in violation of her probation. She was also sentenced to spend 90 days in a drug and alcohol rehab program after her jail term is completed.

Lohan will surrender to Los Angeles authorities and begin her 90-day jail term next week. Reports suggest her time behind bars could be greatly reduced, due to overcrowding, and the star’s mother can only hope she’ll be out quickly.

She tells In Touch magazine, “I would fear for her life. She is claustrophobic, so she’s in fear of that.”

And she’s still convinced that her daughter doesn’t deserve jail time for violating her probation on a 2007 DUI arrest.

She says, “Jail doesn’t help anyone no matter what problem you have, unless you’re a rapist or a murderer. This wasn’t a violent crime, but they’re saying you miss a DUI class and have to go to jail for three months — that’s absurd.”

“My impression of Lindsay is that she’s a fragile lost child – a sleeping beauty with her head in the sand,” criminal defense attorney Stuart V. Goldberg told People Magazine.

Goldberg was widely reported to be taking over Lohan’s case after her previous laywer, Shawn Chapman Holley, called it quits.

But as it turns out, Goldberg won’t be stepping in to save the day.

In a meeting with Lohan, her mother Dina and younger sister Ali at the actress’s apartment over the weekend, Goldberg says he clearly laid out what it would take for him to represent the star: “100 percent loyalty and zero tolerance for dishonesty”– but that Lohan and her family “didn’t seem to understand the urgency and gravity of the situation.”

“I’m concerned that she’s not disciplined or tethered enough to the reality of adult consequences,” Goldberg told People. “She doesn’t seem to have the awareness of what’s going to befall her.”

During their “heart to heart conversation,” which Goldberg says lasted six hours, Lohan diligently took notes while Ali asked “astute” questions.

Goldberg says that at one point, concerned the former child star “was in a dangerous state,” he asked if Lohan might hurt herself.

“She started sobbing quietly. She was genuinely in pain,” he says.

Goldberg says he tried to convince Lohan to leave Los Angeles, a city he described as a “toxic environment for her,” but the actress wouldn’t even consider the suggestion.

“She was like Teflon to that comment,” he says. “It just slid right off her. She seemed to have some inner deep sadness that that was her fate.”

Though Lohan’s original lawyer Holley did not give a reason for resigning from the case, RadarOnline.com reported that the attorney split after learning her client was already shopping around for new representation.
